Today I went to lunch with former coworkers Erin, Tammie, and Denise. We went to Casa de Luca in Beverly....The place is your standard Italian-American restaurant that tries too hard to be Italian. How do they try to hard? Well, they had Italian music playing as back ground music. The volume was way too high and the recording flat out sucked. They have huge warm yummy bread sticks though...I had 2 of those and cheese ravioli for lunch. No desert...people had to get back to work. One thing good about being laid off...I can take long lunches and no one gets mad.

I did not eat lunch today. Instead, I went to the salon and got my nail polish changed (instead of a full manicure, which I just got on Thursday). The color is BERRY HARD, which is sort of a food color. So at least my non-food lunch was food-themed. I do not think my fingernails would taste like berries if I ate them, though. 9 days after Wilma stopped by for a visit and disrupted countless lives, Flaka and Gordo are still without power and getting crankier by the minute.
With no way to cook a sensible meal and restaurants that are open for business still hard to find, Flaka and Gordo found a local pizzaria from which to procure lunch. Two slices of mushroom and pepperoni for Gordo and two slices of extra cheese for Flaka, each washed down with lukewarm pepsi, made for a filling, although not very fun meal. Today I had a turkey and cheese sandwich on a Portuguese roll with some Pringles and a Coke. The food was good and the Pringles even had trivia questions on them. Today's lunch was my first "laid off" lunch...so it sucked.
